"Ceramic Coatings, Are they worth it?"

Up Until A few years  ago, every dads practice was to hand wax his vehicle in his drive way after a long week of work, Now the practice is to absolutely "degrade" or "roast" anyone using wax, then proceed to explain why ceramic coatings are superior.

What is a Ceramic Coating?

This a form of a liquid which is applied to the paint, It bonds with it,  Creating a chemical reaction which will then create a very minor layer of protection for your vehicles paint.

 

With Ceramic Coatings, there are many benefits that traditional wax cant provide:

• Provides a long term durable Protection which can last from 3 - 6 years.

• Unlike wax this provides a deeper level of gloss and clarity which cant just wash away.

• application is only once unlike wax (every 3 months, reapply)

• Protects your paint from day to day elements like Sap, Rain, Bird droppings, etc....

• unmatched hydrophobic properties.

Are they worth it?

This is the most anticipated question which will now be answered by a detailer himself, and in two words, the answer is : YES, and, NO.

Now many might disagree with me on this, although its very simple. Because Ceramic Coatings are highly misunderstood the answer varies. 

 

A Customer might be thinking a ceramic coating is scratch proof, and rock chip proof etc... when this is an absolute lie. Because of this, their initial goal won't be solved with a ceramic coating meaning it's not worth it for them.

While someone who's only looking for a long term shine and gloss, with a little bit of light protection, a ceramic coating is the best option for him.

So in simpler words, Looking for scratch resistance, rock chip resistance, ultimate protection for your paint and not as worried about the gloss or shine, then don't get a ceramic coating, rather go for a PPF (Paint Protection Film).

Your Not as Concerned about, scratch resistance etc... just need a nice and shiny, and easily maintainable vehicle, then a Ceramic Coating is the best option or you.
